Had to have a lie down after this experience. Just not used to this level of professionalism since West park cafe days. (Which this beats)Staff were friendly, helpful even. Menu had a good, solid, representation. Prices city center rate. Service quick even though venue was full. Tasted amazing.I don't know how the residents of Darlington will cope with somewhere so brilliantly run in the West Park area. Certainly foreign to us sufferers at the hands of the last lot.Worth a trip. Don't expect floral and paisley print ah la certain out of town 4/5* golf and spa resort. Expect clever, relevant, tasteful, contemporary styling. Integrated with such unassuming friendliness.A joy. The granola is good. Scrambled eggs on toast is good. Cafe frappe good (ask about other flavours). Coffee good.Do yourself a favour. Go.

Had lunch here this week with a friend and our children. It’s a real shame the welcoming child friendly ethos has now gone. There isn’t a small play area as there used to be.We had to ask for the children’s menu, despite us being with 2 5 year olds and 3 year old.Food was fine, but our main issue was being told ‘to quite down our children’. We have never been asked this anywhere - and definitely not in a family based cafe. When we were asked this by the member staff, we had already asked for the bill, so leaving was imminent anyway, we had been there almost two hours so there were only a couple of other customers left there too. The children were certainly not being naughty, simply a little excited having not seen each other for a few weeks. The children had pancakes - which were great, and coffee was super hot, which is excellent and as exactly how I like it, so I’ll probably return, just without my children.

Busy Saturday morning brunch and all staff were lovely and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a full English breakfast and pancakes. Really yummy and big portions. Would absolutely recommend!
